Could this be post natal depression? I hate saying this, I really really do but it's how I feel. Ever since having Jayce I have lost EVERYTHING, I've lost all my friends, my relationship, I'm obviously out of work at the minute. I'm constantly tired, I am hardly eating, hardly drinking and either angry or upset all the time. To top it all off, I'm stuck in the house all day, every day with Jayce because he won't settle, he just cries constantly, he fights his sleep, only time he's happy is when he's feeding. Then his colic will play up and he only ever settles when my mum is around and she genuinely doesn't believe how bad he can get when she isn't here because he is so good with her! I just feel like I have no bond with my son no matter how hard I try, I feel like a useless mother and I don't even have anyone to talk to or even get out the house for an hour or 2 because no one gives a fuck. I love my son with every part of me but oh my god, I wish he would enjoy my company like I enjoy his and maybe I wouldn't feel the way I do. Lovely day outside and I'm trapped inside the house crying my eyes out on the sofa.. Is this still my hormones 5 weeks later or is this something I'm going to need to seek help for? Thank you ladies, hate being so negative 😭

my dear you are not been negative. you are honest enough to share your feelings and that's awesome. Make a appointment with your gp. my best friend had the same issue with her baby. she's much better now

I think it's probably just hormones and baby blues. if you've had a good social life etc before baby then it's a huge adjustment and (not being patronising at all but it will sound that way) you're still quite young so it's a lot of responsibility to take on. all I can say is..speak to your health visitor or gp if you want. the might be able to hep. if jayce is crying and won't settle. put him in the pram and walk.the fresh air and motion will calm him down and really help your mood too. look at your children's centre. they have classes on all the time. and often have groups for younger mums so you can meet people who know how you feel. 😘😘😘

I was gonna say that too @tuftyturtle sometimes the only way I can settle my youngest is to stick her in her pram after a bottle and bum change and walk her round for abit. works 90 percent of the time. really really hope your OK @beccastirlingx

I feel so upset for you reading this I'm sorry you feel this way, if you have a family nurse talk to her about it! or even your gp. also I agree about the iron thing, I know when I have run out of iron I feel exhausted and just generally cannot be bothered with anything, it effects my mood and everything so it may be that! I hope you feel better soon but definitely talk to someone about how you're feeling hun xx

@emmaclark, I'm going to have to! It's just a fear of being told "your not coping" and social workers and stuff. I do everything I can for my little boy and I can cope, just finding it a little tough at the minute because my support system is my mum and when she's working, which is almost ever day from 5am-10pm, I'm all alone and feel so isolated! Xx

they won't call social services because of baby blues. honestly. they want to help you not hurt you more. get your iron levels checked. your body doesn't naturally produce iron you only get it from what you eat so if you're not eating much combined with pregnancy and blood loss in labour your levels could well be low.
speak to what we professionals you feel comfortable speaking with and try to get out for a walk once a day. just the fresh air will clear your head and lift your spirits and the walk will calm bubba down too x

@tuftyturtle, thank you so much. My iron levels where really low after birth because of blood loss and they where low my whole pregnancy. I have iron tablets there but couldn't bear taking them because I was popping pain killers most of the time but I think I'll start them x
