Has anybody took the "harmony" test at your Drs? You take it at 15-19 weeks it tells you if your baby has down syndrome & it also revels your babies gender? I heard its new will I took it & that Forsure made me believe I have a baby boy I'm still in shock! Lol
Oh well maybe I'm just mixing things up then I thought it put distress on the fetus. Thanks for correcting me I guess I was just mixed up I apologize. And yeah he just recommended me not getting it because I was young and he didn't want me to get a false positive and stress out. Maybe it was the stress that he was talking about because that can harm the baby.
@rockysmommy, You're very right about the age. As for putting distress on the fetus, there should be none. These test should be done by blood UNLESS you opt to have the NY test. There should be NO distress at all. I will agree with you on the stress false positives can cause. Not all testing is 100% accurate.
@babygirl71716, I had a magnificent doctor and he told me what was best for me. He told me if I was over a certain age he would totally recommend it but since I'm young there's no reason to get it done. Also read my above comment I realized I didn't tag you in it.
It's critical to get after a certain age yes but for younger mothers it can put distress on the fetus and it's very likely you'll get a false positive. My doctor told me with my age that I didn't need to get it because of those reasons. All I've heard were stories about how people were told their child would have something wrong and their child is perfectly healthy. Even if they do have extra testing to confirm the initial answer, the first answer was still a false positive.
@rockysmommy, I had the test done thankfully all came out ok. But as with any test there are chances of false negatives and positives. I have no idea why a provider would steer a patient away from a potentially critical test. I honestly was going to deny genetic testing because dad and I didn't wanna put her through any unnecessary pain or trauma. But with the coaching of my ob who is awesome and pretty damn honest we did it and cause my age. If a patient gets a positive results the have further testing to either confirm or deny. I would totally recommend a patient get it.
It's pretty accurate about gender but I dont know if you know this but it's pretty false about the other tests my doctor adviced me not to get them because they have a lot of false positives. But if you're mainly doing it for the gender reveal, I wish I would've for that! To find out sooner.
Yes my dr told me the same thing so I believed him more than the ultrasound even though my baby was showing of his parts 😂@proudmomma1216
Yeah is far more accurate than a ultrasound I should have my results by next Monday
Omg how exciting 😄 they told me to call my dr in a week exactly to find out my results in exactly a week I found @ashsloan
I had it done and it reveled the gender as girl and ultrasound confirmed it was a girl :) my doctor said that test is more accurate the ultrasound sometimes
I'm having the harmony test done this Thursday I'll be 13 weeks but I could have had it done at 10 if my dr wasn't always booked
I had it at 10 weeks. Its accurate 10 weeks and after. Just a quick blood draw and results come back within 7-10 days. It's over 99% accurate and is usually only offered to those who have a family history of chromosomal problems or women 35 and up. Otherwise you have to pay out of pocket. False positives are very unlikely with this test.
