did you see the video of the way the gorilla was aggressivly dragging the child? Id of jumped in after my child and got him to be honest stuff standing filming it xx

@jod1303 Yes I saw it! It makes me wonder why none of the keepers jumped in to distract him! I would've done the same...jumped in after my own child! xx To stand and watch it for 10 minutes is disgraceful!! But they said they didn't want to tranquilise him as it would've taken too long to take effect? But it took them 10 minutes to make a decision to shoot him? The child could've died within that time anyway?!? I really don't understand! It breaks my heart...makes me feel so angry and sad inside 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 xxx

Ugh i have such mixed feelings about this. It's obviously devastating that this poor animal is no longer with us, but with everyone pointing blame at everyone else... I think it's sad that everyone is focusing on who's to blame rather than just how sad it is and thinking of ways to prevent anything like this to happen again. Combination of everyone's fault except the gorilla who sadly was the one to suffer. Very sad indeed x

what I don't understand is how the child got in there in the first place, surely it must have taken him some time to end up in there!! I feel so sorry on the gorilla because although he was dragging the child around, it kinda looked like it was trying to protect him. there was lots of screaming and chaos, the gorilla was probably spooked and acting on instinct like animals do! there was even a part when it picked the child up and it looks like it was sorting his clothes😢 just so sad xx

@kmcf2302 Yes, I totally agree with you hun! A similar thing happened at another zoo...but the child was ok. The keepers jumped to the rescue...but I think they should build the enclosures differently...I've been to a few zoos with Gorillas...the enclosure is on ground level (humans are at ground level- so we are both at the same level) there's at least 20 ft high Gorilla proof glass...so no way is a child getting over that. xx

@emmaclark Some zoos build the enclosures so that the public can peer down into the enclosure...and theres a short wall or fence...the kid most likely climbed over it... 😢😢😢 Its a wonder the fall didn't harm him..never mind the Gorilla! Yes...It was most likely spooked! But for people to.record it is absolutely disgusting!.I would've jumped in there..even if it wasn't my child! xx

@winterbaby95, @emmaclark I think I read somewhere that it was an open enclosure for whatever reason and that's why it was so easy for the kid to get through. I think at the end of the day, the decision was not made lightly and I can imagine it was a very bloody difficult decision to make, but if the experts weren't sure, if there's even that little bit of doubt that the kids life coulda been in danger then they had to do what they had to do. It's all fine and well to say aw the parents should have been watching him and oh the zoo should have built a more secure enclosure, yeah probably both points hold merit but it's done now and pointing the finger isn't going to bring that poor animal back, best thing is just to be thankful the kid is ok, mourn the loss and make sure it never happens again :( xx

yeah but tranquilizing him would have angered him with the little child there a 400lb gorilla. as sad as it is it was what they had to do at the time xx
