The horrible sad heartbreaking moment when you realize that your 4 year old daughter will never understand that you are her mother and not her sister.
My mother adopted my daughter and she thinks my mother is her mother and I'm am just her sister and Sophia (one I'm carrying now) is her niece but she's really her little sister.
My daughter will never know or understand that she has a baby sister.

@mommytoabel, it won't be my choice. it will be my mother's and since her and her new husband couldn't have a child of their own I think my mother is fine with the fine my daughter calls her mommy.

I had this same situation happen to a friend in high school where she thought her sister was her mom. I think you should still tell her even though she's not legally yours. have a talk with your mom about it later on because she definitely deserves to know

she will understand, just not now since she's so young, and when she's 18+ you can tell her. my aunt let my grandma raise her daughter since she was 14 when she got pregnant and so my cousin grew up thinking my grandma was her mom and my aunt her sister. they told her the truth when she was old enough to understand and now she has a great relationship with my aunt and calls her mom.
