That's shocking! You should be seeing your midwife regular. Bloods, whooping cough injection, make sure she does a full mot (so to speak) measurements and weight. Birth plan doesn't get done til further on (well I've just done mine with my midwife at 35 weeks) but doesn't hurt to be prepared. Xx

Omg! that's awful! I've seen the team of community midwives regularly throughout my pregnancy for check ups, where they check BP, pee, send me for blood tests etc.... x

I know @stacey804 I'm really annoyed especially since I've questioned it and I've been made out to be the stupid one. I've had some bloods done last week when I went for my anti d so do I need more? Whooping cough though thank you :) xx

Blood pressure, urine sample. Think that's about it. But these things should be carried out on a regular basis (BP, urine tests, weight, feeling where baby is, heartbeat of baby, belly measurements) xx

The matron said in between the appointments I've had I should have been seeing the midwife @ssumner and I said we'll I haven't and she didn't believe me at first.. I said I really haven't been seeing a midwife and she was shocked.. I've had urine samples done and blood pressure when I've come for a scan but it was done by the consultant helpers I've not seen a midwife xx

Personally I'd complain, that's not how a pregnant woman should be treated at all! As a first time mum myself, I didn't have a clue what to expect, but have been so well looked after by both midwives and consultant. I've been told what I needed to get done (eg blood tests, vaccinations etc) and they've made sure baby and me have been well the whole way through. Without my regular checks I'd have been unaware of infections that needed antibiotics or when my blood pressure went up and I had to be put on strict rest for a few days. X

@ssumner, My mum said the same.. she said if I don't then she will but I think I will be doing I feel like I've done it on my own so to speak if it wasn't for being able to post questions and queries on here or having my family is have been completely at a loss.. @stacey804 when u say heartbeat of baby can the midwife do that? xx

make sure and ask about whopping cough jab and they should do bloods, listen to baby and measure and weigh you xx

I love my midwife appointments, as I get to hear babies heartbeat, which is one of my favourite sounds :) xx

No way! I can't believe I've missed out on that I was expecting the woman who did my scan to do that and was gutted when she didn't.. I prob sound really numb but it's all new so I don't know what to expect and who does what so to speak xx @ssumner @stacey804

Aww bless you. No the midwife listens in. They also monitor babies position incase you have a naughty baby that is breech or transverse. At least you are getting it sorted now, but it's disgraceful they've not bothered with you xx

Well the last scan I went for on Thursday she was breech so hopefully she's making some sort of attempt to move the right way.. like u say it's good it's happening now, better late than never ey? Lol hopefully tomorrow when I meet with my midwife I'll feel clearer about what's going on etc.. thank you for helping @stacey804 xx

my darling what hospital are you having baby at? I'm in Manchester and having midwife appointments every couple of weeks for regular blood tests etc. xxc

I go to Salford Royal hospital for my antenatal appointments but it's St Mary's that do the antenatal and that's where I'm planning on giving birth xx

ask for all the leaflets you've missed put on, and demand to be put on the antenatal classes list :)
