I think so. The only reason why I say this is because growing up (and still to this day) I knew when my mom was home without seeing or hearing her. I just feel her energy I guess. Even if we haven't seen each other in months, I can still sense when she's near.
my son was in the nicu and one of the nurse said that the babies can smell their moms when they wall into the nicu even before they get close to their room

they know when you aren't around .they can Smell your scent when you're around..and if you breastfeed they can smell that on you too when your around.
