Its a bit conflicting for me because the gorilla was in fact protecting the child. We also have to think about the fact that maybe after saving and caring for the boy, the gorilla didn't want to give it back.Killing the animal was probably the only way that they were able to retrieve the child.

It's sad that they are shaming the gorilla. I completely blame the mother of the boy. There's no way you didn't have an eye on him for him to pass through multiple barriers to get to the gorilla. They say she had two more kids with her but that's still not an excuse. In the video you hear her saying it's okay mommys here. Well where were you when he got in the there? I know tranquilizing the gorilla would've pissed him off then he probably would've hurt the boy. It's such a hard thing to view

They could have tranquilized the gorilla , he was protecting the kid even picked him up off the floor. Now as far as the mom she got some issues you should be watching your child at all times like who does that even if you need those backpack leashes, you still have to keep an eagle eye on your child
@romesmommy, in all the videos I saw, he wasn't. I'm sure seeing it in person you may think he was hurt, but he wasn't. He got discharged from the hospital with no injuries

ugh it's sad on both ends. a child wasn't being properly watch and the gorilla was killed for protecting the boy once he fell in. There has been other accidents of children falling into a gorillas habitat exhibit and the caregivers have retrieved the children without the gorillas harming the children.
I am a mother of 2, my oldest son is 20& my other son is 13, I am a Professional pet groomer for 18yrs, all dogs bite at times*no matter the breed* so with that being said A wild Animal is *Wild* On tv it showed the Gorilla carrying the boy thru the water what it didn't show on tv and the Zoo Keeper Confirmed calling for help the Gorilla was throwing the toddler against the wall- Now if that were my kid my motherly instinct would be to jump In and get my child,Unfortunately tranquilizer s would've taken too long for an animal that size &strength;, Just sad,tragic situation!
