I just have to take a minute to express my sadness over the death of this amazing creature. While I wasn't there to witness what happened, and many people are saying different things, the boy was NOT critically injured. Gorillas, by nature, are not aggressive creatures. Parents - WATCH YOUR KIDS. This could have been easily prevented. RIP, Harambe.

this happened in my city. its all anyone is talking about on my facebook. my opinion is that the parents should have been watching their toddler closer and he wouldn't have fallen down there. however if God forbid this was me and my son, I would have jumped down there and threw my child up to someone else out of harms way and if the gorilla wanted to hurt me then so be it. but being a parent you don't abandon your child when they're in a dangerous situation. you go to the extreme to protect them. that poor gorilla has now lost his life due to the stupidity of humans

that is fucking bullshit, its not the gorillas fault! He didn't choose to be held in captivity! He wants to be free! And its the parents fault the child fell into a WILD animals territory! I seriously can't believe they killed a innocent creature for some bullshit like that!

I live in Cincinnati been to the zoo many times this has never happened before. it's truly sad that the parents didn't keep a closer eye on him my daughter already knows at just turning 3 she does not leave my side in a crowd.... The whole situation was 100% preventable the gorilla was just reacting to its natural instincts

they are trained for this situation. they did what was in the best interest of the child's safety. bad they tranquilized him he could've flipped out and killed the boy. they took the gorilla life to save the boys. I understand the gorilla was following natural instinct but dragging the boy through the water couldve drowned him. y'all if that was your child with a 400lb gorilla would you want to shoot him with a tranq and watch him freak out or would you kill him on the spot to save your child?
