just need advice on what just happened to me...

I'm laying in bed awake and all of a sudden it felt like a period cramp on the left side. got severe real quick just above my hip bone and shot down into my inner thigh and knee. it would get less painful for a minute and then come back full force to the point of me almost screaming. scared my hubby. it did this off and on for 5 min and If I tried to move that leg it got worse. anyone else have this?
