you know. for as active as she was in the womb I'm surprised she's not as active now. she's a week old today and all she does is sleep. she's a great baby. I remember when my sister had her first baby all he did was cry. I was so worried that I wouldn't know how to handle the first week. but it's been so easy but scary. there are so many challenges up ahead but my husband and i are so ready to take on every single one together.

sleeping all day is completely normal the first few weeks. the best advice I was ever given was actually an explanation as to why they sleep all day, it's because the bright light during the day is hard on their eyes, and it makes them tired so they sleep. that's why they are awake all night and sleep all day. so when we started trying to correct my daughter's nights and days we'd turn all the lights in the house down at like 6/7pm so she would stay awake for a while then turn all the lights back on for her "bedtime." enjoy these first few weeks, they're hard, but you'll definitely miss them in a few months :)

@crunchymomma, I've never heard that one before. and I know I'm gonna cherish these days forever.

yeah I didn't either until my 2nd kid, but correcting days and nights was sooo much easier with this baby than my first. and it definitely makes sense.
