are you doing cord blood?

Do you want to go medication free or epidural? Skin to skin right after birth? Delayed cord cut/first bath? They asked me all these things when I was in labor. I didn't have a birth plan other than I wanted an epidural, so I just went with the flow and decided as we went along. :)

do you want a mirror so you can see baby come out?

does bf want to do first bath or cut the cord?

Consent forms, whose authorized for info, if you want epidural, if you want to delay cord clamping, which option do you want for circumcision, Do you want IV drugs, do you want the option to be mobile, do you want eye prophylaxis, do you want to labor in a tub, c-section options, that you still want food to keep up your strength while laboring ect..Just a list of things you'd want to do and make everyone aware of.

Don't let it overwhelm you! The nurses are there to help you decide. I went into labor at 38 weeks so I hadn't decided on a lot of things but they helped me. I wanted an epidural and that's all I had set in stone. It'll work out the way it's meant to. Good luck!

I put...skin to skin, delay cord clamping, delay bath 24 HRS, explain all procedures before doing them and want husband to hold her before anything done, no pacifier or bottle, no medicines that make me loopy for after delivery, before ppl come visit want to be settled in room, if emergency csection only husband allowed in OR and recovery, nobody but husband in delivery room, offer epidural..you can Google several outlines and get different ideas

@hennessy97 yeah my hubby cut it and he said it was surprisingly tough!

Also placenta encapsulation, they save it for you if you tell them you want it.

@averysmom8_3_16 yeah I forgot to mention it and when I remembered it was too late to do it.

I don't think I want to encapsulate my placenta...decisions decisions. @expectingz

@averysmom8_3_16, It's an option, you can always save it in your freezer, they give you a biohazzard bag to make sure it's not contaminated, and you can decide to at any time. Tons of benefits to doing it also, like milk supply, energy, less like to suffer postpartum ect. Research it before you let it pass you by, either way you'll make an educated decision!
