so went to the doctor today and I am.3 cm and 70% effaced . still no contractions that are worth calling them.for so they said if I don't have him by this weekend then I will be getting induced a week from.today and then I got a phone call from them.30 min later saying that I am scheduled to be induced 8am on June 2 and I am freaking out! I've never had to be induced and I've heard horror stories about it.. is there anything I should know? they said that because I'm 3 cm they might not give me pitocin they might just break my water and see what happens before they give me meds. but I am still terrified!

Honestly I was induced with my daughter and it wasn't really that bad. I didn't have pitocin. They used a pump balloon to dilate me and they broke my water. I wasn't even in labor for 12 hours and had 15 minutes of pushing.

Girl, if you're scared and there's no medical reason to be induced (any threat to baby) SAY NO. Tell them you'd rather wait. You have the right to decline unnecessary medical treatment. It's completely your decision. Getting induced increases your chances of c-section significantly. Natural labor is the best labor. Pitocin induced contractions are longer and stronger and is not recommended by the manufacturer without an actual threat to baby (maternal diabetes, rh issues, broken water with no contractions, etc.). I would wait if I were you. A safe and healthy baby doesn't have to be one with medical interventions.

I was induced the day before m due date ... it's really not that bad. I was only 1 cm when I went in (had been for 2 weeks) ... and was put on pitocen after to my rounds of antibiotics for group beta strep. I didn't feel much of anything until they broke my water ... then my.contractions were bad enough enough to get an epideral ... passed out for about 2 hours woke up and pushed lol. I found the whole induction to be a pretty stress free experience :) good luck!

I started low low dose of pitocen at about 630 .... my daughter was born at 238 am .... after about 30 min of pushing ..... I was in labor for 16 1/2 hrs and pushed for at least 4 hours with both my boys ... that was far worse and I was not induced with them
