They've started her on gaviscon and ranitidine three times a day, don't know how long it will work for because i know the gaviscon will mess up her bowel movements so I'm just playing it by here, got to go back in two weeks and if it's doesn't help her then try something else! @suzie31 xx

Awww bless her. My boy has reflux aswell, used to be absolutely terrible. Go careful with the Gaviscon my lovely, it caused my boy to have really bad constipation. I took him off it because it just wasn't worth it. Tried Ranitidine aswell but didn't work for me. But me saying this doesn't mean it won't work for your bubs. Good luck with it, Bleddy reflux. Hate it lol xxx

I wish we had been given ranitidine sooner. It was written on her notes to prescribe it at 7 weeks when I took her into hospital because she couldn't keep any milk down and was screaming and refusing to let me put the bottle in her mouth. nobody gave it to us ! I've seen several Dr's and had paediatrician appointments since then and nobody mentioned it. saw her dietician on Saturday and she said 'oh its in her notes that she should have ranitidine ' she's 20 weeks now so I'm furious that she's been suffering all this time and they've literally told me there's nothing they can do!

I know, I didn't really want her on gaviscon but I'm going to give it a week and if she's struggling to poo then take her off it, she's been settled since giving it her so we'll see, I just feel awful that I didn't know she had it and I was readying all the symptoms of silent reflux yesterday and it's just her down to a tee! Feel like a awful mum, I just put her crying down to colic 😳, hope you little one is okay too and I know it's horrible @suzie31 xx

Aww don't feel like a awful mum, because your not at all. It's so hard with baby's, it's like a guessing game with them and just takes time to learn what the problem is. I really hope it works for you. Keep me posted on her. My boys all good. Did some research and read good reviews about Carobel thickner, told the gp I wanted to try it, he prescribed it and it has worked wonders. Basically thickens the milk up therefore doesn't come back up. He's not on any medication now just on carobel xx

Don't feel bad about it. even Dr's don't know sometimes. her paediatrician looked at me like I was crazy and said 'babies are sick. They grow out of it'. another paediatrician basically told me that I should be breastfeeding and therefore it's my fault. I cried my eyes and refused to see someone else who referred her to a dietician. so....In my opinion you've done a far better job by your daughter than many professionals would have done. xx
