Anybody else have really bad veins? My veins are so bad that everytime I need to get bloods done I have to get an anethnatist to come and do it. The midwives point blank refuse cause they end up putting about 9 holes in my arms and hands. I get really anxious before I have to get bloods now, only because I get treated like a second hand dartboard.

yh my veins are bad too...the first visit my midwife made 4 attempts but collapsed the veins and I refused for her to go into my hand because it hurts more and I have a permanent scar from getting it done there 10 years ago when I was in labour with my first child lol. She printed out the bloods I needed doing and asked me to see the hospital phlebotomist 2 weeks later which I did and he managed to do it perfectly. The bloods I had done at 28 weeks were ok but then there was an issue with the coagulation of the bloods so I had to come back in and get them redone, that was another 4 attempts and she barely got anything out of me...I'm dreading when I'm elderly because it's tough to bleed them at the best of times but it'll be even worse for me, they already have to use the smallest butterfly needles that they have lool.

@kim.m., im the same! only the phlebotamists are able to get blood from me, the midwives butcher my arms 😓 definitely makes you anxious about getting bloods done!

My veins are really deep to the point I tell the midwives they will need to put near enough the whole needle in my arm to be able to get any blood from me but they never put the needle far enough and say they don't want to hurt me, I'd much prefer them to stick the whole needle in my arm than try 4/5 times to get it lol xx
