Have any of you mamas had the implant Nexplanon for birth control? How did you like it and did it…

I had it I loved it worked great didn't stop my period made it irregular

not the first year but the second year I had an increase in appetite started gaining weight then

@mamabritt, I've never had the Nexplanon but I did use Mirena and I really don't recommend any implants that go in your uterus as they have high chances of causing ectopic pregnancies. I had my mirena put in back in like June or July of 2015 and removed in the beginning of December 2015, was pregnant by January and had an ectopic pregnancy by February.

i was insane with the implant and bled all the time. also, I would lose handfuls of hair at a time. it was awful

I had an horrible experience such as period and spotting for a whole year and I gained a ton of weight .

Yes . I seen a few ladies on here said they had good reactions but I didn't so maybe you will have a better experience . If my period wasn't on , I was spotting . So I had to constantly keep a pad on . Maybe in between that I had a good day of not bleeding but then the next day spotting .

I gained serious weight from depo shot

I had implanon before having my youngest and liked it till the end, when the hormone started running out I got crazy and bled a lot. I just got nexplanon put in two weeks ago and have been bleeding since but my DT said that's normal and if it bothers me she can prescribe a pill to stop the bleeding

@mamabritt, nope. I pretty much gave up on all forms of BC after getting pregnant on the pills, needing emergency surgery for a ruptured cyst with the mirena, and going pyscho on the implant. I just do not handle anything well apparently haha
