I was in labor for a total of 16 hours. At anout 4 hours in my contractions were something fierce and i recieced my epidural, which honestly didnt hurt AT ALL. the iv hurt way more than the epidural and it made my laboring easy and painless. 8 hours into labor i dilated to 7 but did not have any progression after that. i was on pitocin and when the pitocin started it was all good but when I had to get stronger contractions to dilate the last 3cm, DJ's heart rate dropped dramatically low and irregular and my blood pressure was dangerously low as well. they took me off it and then a couple hours later tried again, same result.

I ended up having to get a c-section and I was so scared. I felt so defeated because baby boy was ready to come but my body wouldn't dilate to 10.

so I was whisked into the O.R

but baby boy was born and his daddy got the special privilege of facetiming us during the procedure. I am now recovering but I'm in pain really bad.

But our little angel was born and the whole world stood still. he's perfect and so worth all the pain. oh!. and no trouble latching at all!

truly blessed.

sometimes things don't go the way you want them to in labor. but in the moment, what matters is a healthy happy baby.
