So the closest family that lives to me and my boyfriend is his dad and stepmom and my dad. Our moms live out of state. My mom FaceTime's with me everyday to see Connor, We see my dad maybe twice a month (he lives half hour away from us). My boyfriends dad and his stepmom live 20 minutes away from us and haven't seen Connor since Christmas. I've tried numerous times to get together with them but there's always a reason they can't see their only grandson. Mind you his stepmom was SO excited when I was pregnant about Connor, now she has no time. It upsets me they don't make time to see him. But it shows who cares more.

I know that is sad and I know it pisses you off because it used to piss me off my mom lives about 5 minutes away I'm talking literally down the street and around the corner and never has time for my daughter but don't stress yourself out about it they'll pay for it in the long run

unfortunately i to.. know the feeling.. i told my husband its bull shit that my step mom had me put her down and all of her family for an emergency contact for my daughter at school

. and it will make me a ln awesume grandmother one day because i actually love my children and will do anything to be apart of their lives without somehow being overbearing lol

@mommyagain, I'm coming to realize I shouldn't stress over it, like you said they'll pay for it in the long run. This is the time he's growing and I want everybody to see but if they don't want to be part of the experience then that sucks for them!

@jlove, totally agree! Haha his stepmom always wants like his and mine hospital bracelets from when he was born so SHE can frame then for her. Like excuse me? No, you don't even care to be part of my son's life, why should I give you something that's so meaningful. (I wouldn't give those away anyways haha)

@kcamps, Exactly! As long as he knew you were there EVERY step of the way that's all that matters....I keep saying this I never thought there would be a day I saw so many deadbeat grandparents sheesh but I guess they fail to realize they're gonna get veeeery old and need somebody..... tragic when they get done the way they did their kids and grand kids
