Soo.. I seen this on "what to expect" it's bad to lay on your back during the second and third trimesters because of the weight of the growing uterus and baby pressing the vena cava, ((the main vein that carries blood back to the heart from your lower body region.)) and If compressed, it can interfere with optimum circulation..
But...
I'll fall asleep on my left side because they say that allows for maximum blood flow (less pressure on the vena cava) and could reduce swelling in the legs. But, when I wake up in my sleep I wake up on my back 😑😩 like ughhhh. I can never get comfortable...

They had me laying on my back for hours today at the hospital. As long as you are comfortable I don't think it's an issue. If you start to feel like it's a problem roll over but honestly I think it's okay.

I'm the same and my doctor told me as long I'm comfortable me and the baby is fine which we are. I've slept on my back so many times lol 😂

@twinscomingsoon, Yeah in the article in "what to expect" it said that if you absolutely cannot get into a comfortable position and can only sleep on back or stomach that to make sure you okay it with your doctor. The thing with me is that when I do land on my back I find it harder to breathe.. So I get so uncomfortable and end up waking up from my sleep and having to turn on my side again. I just don't want sleeping on my back to hurt the baby lol

My dr told me to sleep however was comfy, that my body will wake me up when I need to move. I used to go to sleep on my side and wake up on my back constantly.

@lizzyc09, I feel you girl trust me.. It sucks! I hate when doctors say different things because it's like "ok what do I do who do I listen to" lol.. It's horrible. 😩

@santistevanmommie, Yeah! That's what it said on there it said that your body will wake you up if uncomfortable. When I sleep on my back I tend to feel like I can't breathe at times.

Yeah I used to wake up feeling numb sometimes and I would freak out but as soon as I rolled to my left side it got better and my daughter would kick me like she was telling me to knock my shit off lol.

@santistevanmommie, lol! omg girl when I lay on my back I hardly feel my daughter move its so weird like I feel her movements and kicks REALLY LIGHT and I get scared but once I lay on my side shes moving around all crazy and feels stronger

Luckily my daughter didn't have a problem with flow of nutrients to her. Her Drs said her umbilical cord was the thickest they'd ever seen and she was 8lbs when she was born!

@kaisynsmummie8716, me too! Especially though since it's so hot and being hotter because this pregnancy making me hot than the weather being hot I'm a simple mess.. To top it off I have no fan or AC. Lol

I'm always scared about that too since I read it on what to expect so when I'm lying on my side I have a pillow in between my legs and one by my back and it's so comfortable for me
