Honestly, I wouldn't. If you have a pack and play you plan on keeping by your bed when baby get here, then there's really no reason for a bassinet. But that's just my opinion, my boyfriends mom wanted me to get one but I didn't see a point in spending more money and it taking up more space when they had the pack and play to sleep in
