Anyone else on here have a child with autism and gone on to have other children how did u feel and what was ur experience with how your autistic child felt about there sibling ??
hi I'm judith I've 3 kids aimee 11 charlie 6 and olivia 4... my son the middle child charlie has autism spd mld and mild epilepsy... we actually started to try and get pregnant b4 charlie turned 1 and luckily withing 3 months we where pregnant... I wish it was that easy now lol... Anyway at the age of 1 charlie was hitting no milestones but I've been told boys are a lot slower and has allowed for this however by the time his 18 mth review was being done charlie was just barely walking and hitting very few milestones had crazy obsessions with fire and routines and that's when the penny hit that something wasn't quite the same with him than other children of his age.. he was diagnosed at age 4 I have to be honest and say that if I had of known what was to come over the next 2 years with appointments and therapy I would of chose not to get pregnant as I found it hard to struggle everything and be a working mum however having said that it's the best thing that could've of happened for charlie he has learnt so much through olivia and even started to talk... it's hard to watch them together sometimes as she's 4 going on 14 and charlie is gonna be 6 in June but still like a 3-4 year old but she's really gd for him and the love he shows her is indescribable xxx
