Why do people use accidental infant death/suffocation and SIDS interchangeably, they aren't the same and to me it seems like a scare tactic and it allows for people outside of your home to dictate how you raise your child. I lost a nephew to SIDS, there was nothing anyone could do. Scientists and Medical professionals have no idea what happens and there is no way to stop it or bring the child back if it's SIDS. Wouldn't it be better to say that a child could suffocate if you do this.... rather than to put the label of SIDS on everything. It's not easy being a parent especially to a newborn, and there is always someone on the outside saying that you can't do this and you can't do that. If a baby is going to leave this earth from SIDS there is nothing that will change that. The science and medical world are always finding something that works "better" than the way mom's have done things for centuries, since there are billions of people in the world and many different cultures who things differently some without medical intervention, I think mom's will be fine as long as they take care of the

their babies and take precautions to make sure babies are ok.

I'm sorry I just hate scare tactics and I was reading a new article about SIDS.
