So earlier in the day I had brown discharge and tonight when I went to wipe there was nothing there what does this mean ?

For sometime as in how long a month? Two? Have you taken a pregnancy test? It is possible that that could be implantation bleeding, regardless most of the time, if not all of the time, brown discharge is old blood.

@ashsloan,  It happened twice and went away I haven't been on a period for some time
