Mm not necessarily I had a friend who did that and she still bled until she finally got it removed, it can cause you to bleed that long unfortunately

after 2 years of having mine in, I would bleed for 10 days, stop for 10 days, and repeat. I finally got it out in Feb of 15 and was pregnant May of 15...haha (granted, my husband was gone from Nov 13 to Oct 14 so it was never put to the test when the frequent bleeding started)

Weird. Ibprofren thins out ur blood, making u bleed more. Anyways, I bled a month straight after getting mine. I took anything I could but nothing worked.

@sktraum, apparently the anti inflammatory properties it has is what helps. My cervix is inflamed because I had the Mirena placed too soon after delivery so I wasn't all the way healed yet. Right now my body is rejecting it as a foreign object and that's why I won't stop bleeding, so she says. I had it placed at 6 weeks rather than 8 weeks because I was supposed to lose my insurance.

So if ur body is trying to reject it, shouldn't u remove it to avoid infection? That sucks!

That does work. I take ibuprofen when I'm on my period every month because it makes it a lot lighter and doesn't last as long
