have any of you ladies had to get the shot to speed up baby's development? I'm not even 30 weeks yet…

why are you freaking out?

because they are giving me a shot to speed up my baby's growth because I'm having labor contractions a lot .

it's scary , I'm not even 30 weeks I shouldn't be close to having him at all

I had the shots at 29 weeks and It was just in case u can still carry the baby till full term with the shot there are no bad things bout it..I'm 31 weeks now and I've been doing fine so far it's just they are worried for the baby and it raises the percentage of life out of the womb if baby is born early the shots hurt really bad though no matter what don't do it on ur legs do it to your butt trust me I freaked out during the second shot bad😭

I got into a bad car accident so they were really scared I would go into pre term labor..anyways I hope everything goes well for you my babies heartbeat has been really strong and she's a fighter just like me (:

@lizzib00, that's good to know ! they literally sprang this on me and didn't say really why ...

and on top of it I started bleeding super super bad after I got checked .

@bkrettler11497, honestly with bleeding I bled to after the accident that's why they said the shots would be a good thing honestly it helps the baby lungs develop faster..I think they just our worried baby might come out early honestly I googled a lot and babies born with the shots don't need to be in the nicu that long since their lungs will be more developed honestly I was scared too but it won't harm the baby and the doctor wouldn't do that unless they are genuinely worried I had such an amazing staff of nurses, Doctor, and my midwife

@bkrettler11497, do what u feel is right and talk to the doctors about your worries with these shots I made sure to talk with my midwife before I got the shots so I felt more better about having them done..another thing is make sure u don't have gestational diabetes this shot raises your blood sugar..but I passed my test so I was pretty fine and I had no bad side affects I was just sore

Im not worried about having the shots I'm worried about why I'm needing them if that makes sense @lizzib00 I love this app , I love being able to talk to others about issues !(:

I got that done at 32 weeks. They stopped my labor & put me on bed rest til I was 36 weeks. Had her at 37 weeks. It was scary but doctors ate truly amazing now a days. My daughter was super healthy & had no time in the NCIU.

@claudiajoy, I've had to get two shots to stop contractions already , one at 22 weeks and then one at 28 .

so now they are giving me thease shots ...it's just scary .

they didn't even put me on bed rest ...pretty much said it isnt going to help...
