So a few weeks ago because of my blood pressure my Dr told me she would induce me at 37 weeks. Yesterday at my ultrasound baby measured 8lbs 4ozs and 39 weeks and she pretty much told me I have no options other than a cseaction(which is my biggest fear). She said by the time I got to 40 weeks baby would weight 10, 11, 12lbs and even if her head came out her shoulders wouldn't. So I asked her why she still couldn't try the induction next week and she said baby hasn't dropped and she can't induce if I haven't dropped. I don't understand, she had no way to know if I would be dropped or not a few weeks ago and she was willing to induce? I feel like she just wants to do a cseaction so that's what she's making me do
I wouldn't let her bully you into something that you may not need, I was told the same things that Callie was was gonna weigh like 9lbs, but my Dr wanted to try induction first and I never dropped like they say your suppose to, but I had Callie vaginally thank god
If you're that uncomfortable with her advice, is it possible to get a second opinion? Also, because of development it's very possible her diagnosis could change within a week. At the same time, I know most birth plans don't go according to what we hope they will be, it's important to listen to advice because they want what's best for us and our babies.
It is more dangerous to have them induce you and the baby not be in the right position. It's how labor lasts 48 hours and could potentially result in an emergency C section then. Your BP may require the baby to come sooner but if baby is not in the right position you could potentially harm the baby and yourself.
My mom had my sister naturally and she was 10 pounds so I say you should try to see if you can still go without a c section
