When you’re trying to conceive, everyone has advice for you. But that advice soon turns into sound bites you just tune out because you’re tired of hearing them.
We asked moms in Preggie if they had any tips that really work for women planning their pregnancy. Here’s what they said.
1️⃣ → Don’t give up
💬 I agree that the process should be fun, but there is a point where you need to seek help from a specialist. I get so tired of people telling me to “stop trying and it will happen” because, for me, it won’t. It is near impossible for me to get pregnant without medical intervention. Don’t worry about taking other people’s advice. Do what is right for you and your partner and don’t give up hope.
💬 Have sex in the morning, drink a glass of red wine a day and have lots of sex. I have pcos, endometriosis, hypothyroidism and 1 ovary. It can happen! I took one round of Clomid and did all the things I mentioned and was pregnant the first month after 8 years of TTC.
💬 It’s not fun! Don’t go into this thinking it’s all sunshine… I have been misled lol. It’s like hell.
2️⃣ → Relax
💬 Just go with the flow I thought for the longest I wasn’t able to have kids but after my daughter I became very fertile and not even a year apart I’m getting ready to have another just let it happen don’t stress and let it flow I honestly stop for a while then Boom I just wound up pregnant but I’m loving it.
💬 It will happen when you both relax about it. Don’t let sex be a chore, have fun with it and get into it. The more you stress and obsess over it, the harder it will be to get pregnant. Don’t put so much pressure on it. You don’t know how many times I heard, “We gave up trying and just said if it happens, it happens. That’s when we got pregnant.” Myself included!!
3️⃣ → Talk to your doctor or see a specialist
💬 We got pregnant 2 weeks after going to see a fertility specialist. I had completely given up.
💬 Sometimes medical intervention may be the only option and THATS OK too. There is no shame on what method you use to bring a child into the world, but that they are safe and loved.
4️⃣ → Have fun!
💬 With me and my fiancé, all my pregnancies were unplanned because we we’re just having fun. Both our kids are blessings.
5️⃣ → Ovulation tracking and testing really help
💬 Try an ovulation or TTC app. It tracks your periods, and ovulation. I knew I was pregnant before a test(well suspected) because you can track your temp and it never went down like it should after ovulation. It goes up at ovulation, then down. You also keep track of vaginal discharge so you know when it’s the best time to have sex. I say track for a few months like I did, then when you’re ready to try, do it on the days that are the best times! You will know. It’s all about learning about your own body and not stressing.
💬 Honestly I tried for over a year and did ovilation test and period tracker it really helped me and we also prayed.
6️⃣ → Don’t try
💬 I agree with the not trying. I tried for 5 months and ended up too stressed then one month after just going with the flow I got pregnant!
💬 When I was trying to conceive it wouldn’t happen. When I wasn’t trying to conceive it happened!💙
7️⃣ → Positivity and gratitude 🙌🏻
💬 Focus on other things other than just getting pregnant, enjoy life, and it will happen!!
💬 Everything happens when it is suppose to. Everything happens for a reason. It’s your journey… Remind yourself to enjoy it!
💬 Prayers! 🙏
8️⃣ → Exercise and healthy living
💬 I finally learned to relax, exercise more and enjoy that time with my husband and it finally happened.
💬 Take prenatal vitamins now.
💬 Consume foods that have folate in it it helps and of course have sex.
💬 Nutrition, hydration, and exercise are so critical and most of all relax!
9️⃣ → Fertilaid
💬 Also my husband got on Fertilaid (which increases the sperm count) and we got pregnant that month. Before we decided to stop actively trying to get pregnant, having sex turned into a chore and I just wanted it over with as soon as possible.
🔟 → Pressed
💬 Track your periods/ovulation and TRY PRE SEED!
1️⃣ 1️⃣ → Enjoy your partner
💬 Make love dont just do it to try it get pregnant do it out of love for the person you are with. That way you do not ruin the bond. Have fun, make love, just enjoy the ride you will be blessed!
💬 Love your husband.
💬 Don’t make a chore out of it either. have fun enjoy your partner, cherish these moments. have fun with it. stressing about it doesn’t help.
1️⃣2️⃣ → Change your mindset
💬 Eat healthy, remove or minimize processed foods from your diet, drink lots of water, exercise, detox your body twice a year and have faith. Organize your life and finances to prepare for baby, you’ll be thankful you did!
💬 Sometimes you need to leave the place where you are behind, if not physically, then mentally. My husband I were were TTC for months, but after one too many negative tests and tears and the consequential arguments, we stopped talking about babies. We moved overseas and as a result our lives changed drastically. EVERYTHING – personal habits, diet, mindset. The new year came around but my period did not. I became pregnant when we weren’t even ‘trying’. So the moral of the story is, even if can’t move to a different continent like I did, even subtle changes may add up to more than you would expect…
1️⃣3️⃣ → Have sex everyday
💬 Don’t think about it. Just Do It… EVERY DAY!!! Have fun and enjoy each other.
1️⃣4️⃣ → Don’t obsess over it
💬 Don’t think “am I going to get pregnant this time?” it will happen when it happens, too much emphasis on it or stress about it will not help…. I hadn’t been on birth control for about 5 months, every time my husband and I had sex I wondered if it would happen and it never did, it just so happened that the time it did I didn’t even want to have sex, but did anyway, the next time my period was due it didn’t come, I felt sick one day after eating lunch and it dawned on me my period was over a week late…. went up to our room/bathroom (we were living in his parents house while ours was being built) took a test and sure enough, I was pregnant
💬 Don’t try so hard to where having sex is only to have a child, make it spontaneous and interesting every time!!

Мама троих детей, ждёт четвёртого
For ppl who want children telling them to not try doesn't make much sense. It is after all "trying to conceive" but I definitely agree with trying not to let it spoil the fun and not becoming too obsessed with ovulation and temperatures and all of that.

not saying to give up but don't think about it. cause you only stressing yourself. many friends are ttc and when they "give up" or they just stop thinking about it they end up getting pregnant.

Try to make sure you have an orgasm as often as possible when you have sex! The contracting muscles pull the sperm up!

Might be tiring but have sex every day for a month, even through your period. One of those times is likely to work
