Can I buy just the cheap huge sanitary pads for my hospital bag as they are so much cheaper than maternity pads!? Same thing? X
I would definitely go for the maternity pads, the way I bled after birth was nothing like any of my periods and my flow is usually heavy so I have to change them quite often. For me, regular sanitary towels wouldn't have lasted at all and I know I would have leaked through plus like the lady above says it gives you comfort down there too as it's like sitting on a fluffy pillow loool xx
maternity pads are great, it's like sitting on a fluffy pillow lol xx
no if you are anything like I was, normal pads wouldn't even last 30 mins lol x
i didnt know that either, midwife told me normal pads were fine, glad i know now though x
My mothercare ones were £5.99 for 48. But my mum bought them lol x
Ive bought the same ones as @rach0402 . Tesco ones. Xx
Oh ok I'm looking at silly expensive ones! Didn't know they were that cheap. Great thanks X
I got some maternity towels from Tesco for £1 for a pack of 10. used them with my first and they do the job just fine 👍 @kellym xx
Standard sanitary towels also have a plastic backing, which can cause you to overheat down there, also resulting in infection and stitches not healing properly, ouch! At the end of the day, maternity pads were designed for a reason, so makes sense to use them 😊 I've just got mothercare ones, but you can get them from most places, from 99p a pack, so they're actually cheaper than standard sanitary towels anyway x
Not really, maternity pads are designed for heavy flow of post partum bleeding. Standard sanitary towels aren't. Maternity ones are softer and padded, making them more comfortable, especially if you have stitches. Also, the chemicals they use in sanitary pads to mask smell, can cause infections post partum. There's many other reasons too, but they're just some I can think of lol. x
i have babe i bought always night time pads the big ones x
Thanks ladies, I bought maternity pads from tesco! Actually very cheap! 😳 X
