@scoobygirl30, well yes a good latch is always a good start and its not supposed to hurt! if it does something is wrong the only time I had pain was a poor latch which was rare I'd take him off and put him back on and it'd be good. I had pain during a yeast infection in my breast due from my son having thrush and it got in my breast or engorgement. Other than that I had no pain! Not even when he got teeth he has 8 and does not bite and I do not feel them when he breastfeeds. Cluster feeding can get annoying and waking up to eat multiple times but its to be expected. I tried putting him on a schedule as a newborn but I didn't wanna starve him so I did on demand feeding. I also have a personal lactation consultant well she's a breastfeeding peer counselor who helps during my nursing journey I didn't need help early on but as he got older I needed help with what certain things he was doing when it came to nursing meant. Not many supported me breastfeeding but I did it for my child and I go to breastfeeding support groups every month at the Wic office.
