Refrigerate the fresh pump then mix then freeze

It won't hurt it, but try to mix milk from the same time of day and give it to baby at that time. Daytime milk and nighttime milk have different properties. I've definitely mixed day and night milk and just given it to him whenever. I never had a strong supply, so I just gave him whatever I had.

You can combine as long as it's in the 7 day range but has to be from fridge 😀 once unthawed it can't go back in!

That's what I do! Or I just leave it in the fridge cause if it's within 7 days I feed him that instead of freezing. I keep a stash in the fridge then when I have extra I freeze it. If you don't use it within 7 days in the fridge then you can freeze it! Just date it and pay attention to it.

@megbaby07, I only said to make sure to refrigerate both to the same temp before mixing because fresh milk starts to break down the fatties right away and if you put the fresh milk in with the older milk before they're the same temp it'll start breaking down even more healthy fatties in the older milk as well causing it to turn into lipase milk which has a lot of flakes and tastes very metallic when unfrozen and some babies turn away from it. That's just what I read when I started mixing my pumps. I did get a few lipase bottles out of it because I thought that was craziness. Haha
