It's so hard to tell how my BF feels about having a daughter...I can barely go 15 minutes without kissing her and NEEDING to hold her and touch her. He can go all day without seeing her and just kiss her once when he gets home from work, it's crazy to me. I know he loves his daughter and that he's never been a affectionate type of person due to him not having both of his parents very young and growing up kinda harsh and having a rough childhood. My questions is: How are men so emotionally unconnected with reality? He's a wonderful dad and provides financially but it's like emotionally and mentally he's not here or this isn't real😩

Maybe his type of love is providing things and being there financially for your baby? And maybe thats why he doesnt show his emotions?

It took my husband months to really bond with our first baby... Like maybe 6 months. He loved him, he just didn't know how to interact with a baby. As soon as our baby started acting like a little person, everything fell into place and he is a very affectionate dad. It just didn't click with him naturally... Now with our second baby it's complete opposite. He has been affectionate from the start:) Give your man some time, I bet he softens up.
