What crib mattresses are you guys choosing. I'm so terrified of SIDS and want to choose a good…

I got a sealy mattress.

@graciesmama, do you know what one? There's like 5 sealy brand.

I'm not sure which one we got, but it's very tight fitting in the crib. I would think you want something firm.

oh, lol didn't know. got it from Walmart. it was 80$

we cosleep currently but we will probably just get a $40-50 one from Walmart but if you're truly worried about it you could get one of those monitors you put on their foot I think there's one that even links with your phone?

its not a certain one, it just says sealy. its very firm tho.

@peanuts1mom, yeah I had thought about getting a monitor. We have a bassinet for at first but moving her to her own room scares me.

I have read that the non fabric ones like that are good for avoiding sids because it keeps the mattress cooler. I was a nanny and my boys dad just kept the plastic on the mattress

@cubanese, were not getting a Graco crib. I wonder if they sell separate mattresses? @jleightutt that's the one I was looking at! I've never heard of leaving the plastic on?

@babybowers, I was going to but when I felt the mattress, it felt plasticy so I decided it wouldn't be necessary. He just did cuz they had softer mattresses.

Ours is a sealy pediatric mattress we got at Walmart it was the more expensive $80 one but it fits snug in the crib and is firm and not fabric.
