So today I went to the hospital because I thought I was in labor I was having contractions 4 minutes apart and they were painful so I got a quick shower and me and my man went the water helped the contractions a lot. When I got there we got settled in and the contractions seemed to die down. At that point I knew they were going to send me home. When the midwife came on to check me She was very rude and also very rough causing me more pain than I'm used to with cervix checks. I am also a recovering addict I have been clean and sober for 2 years which all the doctors I've seen at my OB office know and she had the nerve to order a drug test on me which is fine because I have nothing to hide but it still hurt. When she saw me in the room she gave me a very dirty look and tried to say the baby hadn't even dropped which she had another OB I saw the day before had said so. It was all in all a bad experience. The nurse checked me before I left and I'm not even a full centimeter dilated but she was much more gentle and kept saying sorry when she saw I was in pain.

That's extremely wrong. I'm sorry darling. I know what it's like to be a former addict, I'm actually a methadone patient and I was very nervous about getting treated like total crap because of it. Luckily I've had a great experience with my doctors and midwife but that is absolutely not fair that you were treated that way for something that happened in your past. So ridiculous.

@emkasting She is the only midwife who has ever acted that way. as soon as she walked into the room she said "well you look comfortable.....I'm gonna send you home ur contractions aren't close enough" and that was without even checking me yet

Wow that is SO rude. I would complain! She obviously is in the wrong line of work if she thinks it's alright to speak to another person like that, and a pregnant one at that!

@emkasting My boyfriend also said her fingers were covered in blood when she was done checking me. It hurt so bad I've never had a cervix check hurt that bad. She had checked me before and took 10 seconds she did it this time and took 5 minutes her excuse was she couldn't feel or find my cervix but had no problem finding it before

She couldn't find your cervix?! What the hell kind of excuse is that?! If she is a midwife she should at least be able to find a fucking cervix 😒 scuse the language but seriously that's ridiculous! I've only had a cervix check once at 28 weeks cause I was having cramping that I wasn't sure was normal. That shit was so painful!
