@cnew12, was it due to funneling? I found out today that im being sent to a specialist due to funneling and I may have to have one. Im absolutely terrified. did you have any complications afterward or get put on bed rest? if you dont mind my asking
@pbandjones, What exactly is funneling? I had cancerous tissue and had part of my cervix removed back in October so when I found out I was pregnant in December, my OB recommended it so I didn't risk a late miscarriage or premature delivery due to an incompetent cervix.
funneling is when your cervix begins opening from the inside and starts to shorten. Im now high risk for pre term labor with my twins. It makes me have an incompetent cervix as well because basically its too weak to carry the weight of the babies
Yeah that's how my doctor described my condition. He said there's no real warning signs of it happening either if it was to give. So I got the cerclage. Epidural wasn't bad & you don't feel a thing. Recovery wasn't bad either, @pbandjones
I took 2 days off of work because I didn't really know what to expect but that was it. No crazy restrictions, just no long standing periods, picking up heavy stuff, ect. But I'm also not preg with twins so yours might be a little more precautions. You cramp light regular period and bleed a little and the cathader comin out was probably the worst part of it all! @pbandjones
