Remember it isn't about you, it's about that little girl. A child needs both parents whether they are together or not. Don't make it harder than it has to be, try to work together.

If he wants to be a father let him. If he back tracks then that's what the law is for. I agree both parents should be in the picture. So just see how it is

I wouldn't want to Co parent either but if he wants to be in the baby's life that's good. and personally if I wasn't with the father I wouldn't want him to have his last name either but he should still sign the birth certificate. if you have to go to court for anything I think it will make it easier like child support and things like that.

I guess I dont agree with everyone else lol. if he isnt consistent or responsible then he shouldn't be around your child. but of course that's your choice.

I gave my son his dads last name BC his dad acted like he would be there then he ended up refusing to sign the birth certificate completely and went MIA

@mariahje, if he signs the birth certificate the baby doesn't have to have the dads last name right? or does the baby? I can't remember haha.

@kebarnes, you can give the baby whatever last name you want technically lol. but I made the mistake of assuming his dad would sign it and just gave him his last name off bat.
