I thought so, that's why I didn't get one and mainly because of I didn't find heartbeat, I would be shitting a brick so I've left it ahah:) @babycakes88 xxx

Loool @lauren1996 I have one used it once but will not use again as don't want to harm baby I even had 1 at my 10 week 4 day scan and even then she only done for a few seconds as bad for baby that early xx

I've only heard baby's heartbeat once, at 16 week appointment but I was 17 weeks, and baby kept hiding haha made me laugh @babycakes88 xxx

Ah thank you ladies, I will hopefully be able to find it then since I'm almost 31 weeks now, I'm not sure how easy it will be to find it though as I've never seen it being done lol @lauren1996 xx

@lauren1996, @babycakes88 I had no idea they're dangerous, I've had it done twice by the midwife so far and she told me not to get one because it can cause a lot of stress and anxiety if you find the heartbeat but she didn't mention it being dangerous. I felt a little like I should have gotten one as so many women on here seem to own one lol, I was thinking about it when I found out I was pregnant but I started feeling the flutterings and then full on movements so early I also didn't feel like I really needed one, thank you both for the info though....looks like I made the right decision not to buy one xx

Fetal dopplers aren't dangerous, and there's more radiation from your mobile phone than a Doppler. But I understand why a lot of people don't like to use them because it can be difficult to find the heartbeat. Took me nearly 2 hours the first time I used it. xx

@zoeleigh, Thanks hun, i'm sure it's fine if you don't do it all the time and for long periods of time. I didn't really think about the radiation if I'm honest my only concern was how I'd feel if I couldn't find a heartbeat xx

I will say I was panicking when I couldn't find it! I can see why midwives don't recommend them. Xx
