Between 36 and 38 weeks. I'm taking leave at 36 weeks just in case she comes early

You can work all the way up until the day you deliver. My plan is 40 weeks, the earliest would be 38 weeks depending on health issues. Basically whatever you want to do.

@carmanbaby, were you thinking of taking it earlier than 36 weeks?

I do pretty much the same work! I worked until 38 weeks with my first and no issues, still going strong with this pregnancy. If you're not comfortable, you can always leave!

legally you are allowed to file for pregnancy disability leave (pdl) 4 weeks before your due date. if you don't use any or all of the 4 weeks prior to delivery, you don't get to tack it on later to your post-delivery recovery time so it's use it or lose it...your job is still protected and you still get 50% or whatever your state's disability percentage is of your salary. I recommend taking it just as a precaution in case you delivery early and trust me the last month is the hardest! you will have time to.mentally get used to not working, prepping the home, and most importantly resting. I highly recommend it. I only took 1 week of the 4 offered to me cause I wanted to work as long as possible for the money, but it got so incredibly miserable at the end and I ended up delivering 2 days before my last scheduled work day so I should have taken the time sooner. nothing wrong at all with not working til the end, unless you absolutely need the full salary amount at this time I totally encourage you to take at least a couple weeks off before you're due! talk with your HR dept and your insurance provider. to get help filing cause you should be paid partially for this time. stay off your feet and good luck momma!

@missliss, @marienoelle @ashalay88 I wasn't planning on leaving until close to my due date I'm not having any issues so far and I haven't been at my job a year yet so I don't get any leave

I'm trying to save my time for after baby comes. I don't want to "waste" four weeks at home prior to the birth, because I would rather spend it with my baby. Again, it is 100% up to you and how you're feeling.

@carmanbaby, ohhhh ok I see. I would say just listen to your body. I'm a preschool teacher and I'm exhausted so that's why I'm leaving at 36 weeks. It all depends on how you feel :)
