They will jump on them and try getting the milk out of the baby's mouth. So, if you're going to get a cat, you have to keep a close eye on it.

there isn't any risks or dangers, the milk thing is a myth. just have to have time for both baby and kitty! and make sure the baby is gentle and the kitty is gentle. and keep the littler box out of reach! 4 cats and a toddler, they leave each other alone mostly.

Milk thing with kittens /cats are very true. I witnessed my mom cat standing over my little sister because the cat smelled her milk breathe. If we didn't get to the cat in time, my sister probably wouldn't be here. Not the same for all cats of course but you should be very careful.@neik84,

I would just hold on. wait til your daughter is about a year old then get one. then you can teach her how to be nice to the kitty too
