Schedules are hard to follow with a newborn. In the beginning most likely you will be winging it until the baby learns to be awake in the day, sleep at night and also stops having frequent growth spurts. If you're going to pump and nurse, i DO recommend pumping on one side while you nurse from the other side.

I'm just getting used to it too but what worked best for me when I wasn't working was to feed my son, then wait about 30 minutes after hes done and pump for 15 min.

Do you feed on a schedule or just on demand like when he acts hungry?

when I was trying to breastfeed they said try every 2 hrs and pump when baby sleeps, or is not eating. not immediately after you feed but give it time to start reproducing milk.
