@izamarpink, you can also try going through the attorney general. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is this court hearing for? What type of paper do you need ready? You may be able to get a free consultation. Some attorneys may also be willing to do payment plans.

I did I filed child support through them. I wanna fight full custody and get visitation established because my ex wants me to put me on child support and wants me to pay for his expenses and I believe he sued me... Asshole. Oh he counter filed against you. That sucks. It will probably go through the court there now instead of through the ag. Have you talked to the ag about getting a probono attorney. I don't know if they will, but never hurts to ask. Not trying to get all into your business, but who has your son now? You or him?

He hasn't help or provided for him in 8 months but I was still nice on letting him take the baby a day a week. @izamarpink, It's just where you file a suit against him and he counter sues you. It gives him opportunity to place the court hearing elsewhere. Such as, not with the AG office. Custody is 9/10 of the law. Don't let him take the baby until you get an order stating custody. Even for a visit. If you allow him to come to your house and see the baby, he can walk right out with him and not give him back. Placing the baby in his custody through court. It could make it harder for you to get custody. The courts may frown apon the fact that you've refused visits, but you can just tell them you were in fear of him taking off with him and it won't be such a big deal. The judge will grant you temp custody until they finalize it.

No he hasn't seen him 🙄 but he hasn't provided for him and his putting me on child support? I left his side because he was providing for me or baby and he was just so irresponsible. I went to a lawyer and she said he won't get custody with everything I told her but she charges so much and she only does 2 payments and still 2,500 each is a lot. @kejs0911

@izamarpink, I totally understand. There should be an attorney there some where who doesn't have such a huge retainer fee. Probono means free, but it's hard finding one to take your case. I'd still try it. You may also be able to go to...maybe the health and human service office or AG office. They may be able to give you info on help with attorneys. If he's not paying or visiting he's not really in a good position to get custody, but just let him think he might be. Lol.

@izamarpink, the one you are pregnant with now, is that also his? Just asking cuz if so they will probably do temp custody for the 8mon old and then finalize custody once the baby gets here.
