Has anyone had the IUD birth control? I'm 7 weeks post partum tmrw, when I went to my 5 week post partum visit I still had stitches because they stitched me real tight and Monday my dr. Scheduled me to get the birth control in but I kind of don't want it even though I don't want another baby for another 3 years but I'm scared of getting the IUD. Any feedback, complaints? Lol

I had Mirena for 3 years before baby but after my miscarriage. It was great. You get cramps for the first few days , make sure to have something with u to take right away lol. And u bleed maybe the first month or two like a regular period but ur body adjusts . No weight gain, hormones were more regulated for me. My only reason for removal was that it slipped out of place and was coming out. There's a string you can just slightly feel at ur cervix and after 2.5 yrs I start cramping and could feel the string more than before. I'm thinking about getting it again as well.@jaaym_

@myliltadpole1116, it's not uncomfortable during sex? Is the string uncomfortable? I'm breastfeeding will I still get my period even on the IUD? Sorry for the questions lol

I got the Mirena after my first baby, too, and plan to get it again after this baby. I loved it. I really liked that I didn't have to think about it. It was not uncomfortable for me at all during sex and my hubby felt it maybe 3-4 times in the 3.5 years I had it in. I exclusively breastfed my daughter and didn't get my period until 8-9 months pp. since the Mirena has little to no hormones, it didn't effect my cycle. I didn't even feel the string at all. I would really recommend it. @jaaym_

@jaaym_, lol no worries. Those are good questions and I'm happy to say that i would honestly forget I even had it . I'm super anal about those things , the string, most people don't notice. U have to look for it to feel it. Lol. Everyone is different but I didn't have a period or if I did it was extremely light and without cramping. I used to get extremely heavy flow and horrible cramps. Labor was similar to my menstrual cycle cramps..my bf never felt it once himself. And previously I'dused practically every type of birth control except for depo and implanon. Mirena is my favorite lol
