C-section mommies, how long did you wait before you carried your baby in the car seat on your own? My doctor told me 8 weeks due to no heavy lifting because of incision etc but did anyone do it before? Or how soon?

They made me carry him in his seat when they came with the wheelchair to discharge me!

I'd say after 2 or 3 weeks. I was just weak and I couldn't hold him so my husband did most of it til my strength came back.

I was told that was the heaviest thing I could lift however, for a couple more weeks then I could lift my toddler

I did a week after, but I had to since my mom couldn't carry it down my stairs due to her knees.... of course my Dr told me when he removed my staples a week after delivery that I could carry her with the carrier
