Not too young. You can show him how to separate laundry, wear toys go, throw trash away. You can Google age appropriate chores.

as soon as my baby is big enough to get her own toys out by herself, she will learn to put them away herself too. there's certain chores for every age 5 is definitely not too young!

@lilianaandsavannasmommy28, exactly! Like no one's talking about cleaning the house from top to bottom. But put your toys away, make your bed, help feed the dog/cat, simple things. People are too easy on kids and then wonder why they grow up to be lazy

Agreed I made a chore chart for my son about 6months ago he just turned 4 and he has to get 50 to get a prize he can brush his teeth clean up his toys, put dirty laundry in hamper, dishes in the sink, and bedtime. Now that he's 4 I want to get him involved in setting the table more often and helping with the trash.

@mommaof2beautifulblessings, you go girl!! I'll be doing similar things with my son. You teach them that "hard" work comes with rewards but they have to put in the work.

@killxj0y, yeah and it can be fun for them too. I will race my son to see who can put away the lego's faster and we sing.
