so, I am technically 36weeks +2 days. my son is 38 +2 . they're considering me term at this point and said that if I go into labor they're not stopping it.
Monday I was 3cm dilated and 70% effaced with him stationed at -1. so I'm making progress. today I've had some braxton hicks, a little cramping but not very painful, and I guess what u call lightning crotch. well I went to the bathroom and lost some of my mucus plug but it was not bloody. what do y'all think I need to do? I'm ftm and I'm afraid to not catch labor in time considering I live an hour from the hospital.😣

@mccokel14, I would wait until contractions are 5-2 min apart and very consistent. Is this your first? My first took awhile to come. Second was faster. So, I'm also afraid of missing the opportunity with the 3rd as I also live an hr from the hospital.

@kejs0911, yes it's my first. I went into preterm labor at 22 weeks so this is a blessing making it this far. I don't see him taking a while to come though lol. I still have 3 1/2 weeks and already dilated so quickly and effaced. plus he is a little over 7lbs so it's OK if he comes I'm just nervous to miss it. I've read stories about people not having painful contractions😣

@mccokel14, My cousin went into preterm labor and had to do the shots with her son. It still took him until the evening to come. If you live an hr away, I highly suggest waiting until 5 min apart contractions. If you feel that may be too late. I'd do 10 min apart contractions and go.

@kejs0911, okay should I count any major tightening? because every time they monitor real and cpnsistant contractions they aren't painful to me

@mccokel14, Yea just when you feel a contraction (the tightening). If it's not too painful, I'd wait it out. Could be Braxton hicks and last awhile. My sister had contractions for 2-3 wks before having her 2 kiddos. She waited until they got painful and were consistent (2-5min apart) before going to the hospital.
