Ok so no judging please. For the past month or so I've been getting more and more scared about becoming a mum and how I'm going to cope, there is a children's centre near me who offers support so I've been thinking about going there and asking what they can do and if they would be able to help support me, I finally got the courage to tell me OH how I was feeling and hes gone off at me telling me he's here to support me and I shouldn't need anyone else, he's not understanding how I feel, when he goes back to work I will be on my own and it petrifies me, I just want to know some one will be there if I need them to be :/ I've typed this message out more times than I can count but I've now decided to actually post it :/

@briony1994, never be ashamed of how you feel! It's all completly natural! Doing it on your own is scary so it's normal to be scared and worry about how you'll cope when your OH goes back to work. You'll also have a midwife for 10 days after baby is born as well as a health visitor so there's always someone there for support if you ever need it as well as all of us here! Being a single parent, I could never have done it without my family nurse or the midwifes and also the lovely ladies here on this app! All normal the way your feeling hun, but you'll be fab!! Xxx

Aw these feeling are totally normal, I think everyone fears motherhood, but your partner should be a little more understanding, just make sure he knows that you are grateful for the support that he does/will give you but you also want to have other sources so that you are more comfortable in this transition. You can always call your health visitor after baby is born if your feeling overwhelmed aswel, I had big fears of becoming a mother and thinking that I wasent going to be able to cope on my own but after I got into a routine everything just clicked. It's best to have multiple support than just relying on one person, you will be Amazing you just have to take each step as it comes and if you need the extra support take it xx

oh my lovely its completely normal to feel lik this..no judging ere. I felt v isolated wen I had my first n had alot of issues with my mil plus a traumatic first delivery (undiagnosed breach..emergency c sec) cutting long story short I got post natal depression n wouldn't even admit it to myself ..its empowering for me to hear u raise ur feelings n acknowledge ur fears..n it dont make u any less of a wonderful lady. in regards to ur oh..I tink dey feel lik a spare part sometimes try to reassure him dat he is not d issue ere ..no doubt he'll b a great dad etc..mayb he would feel more open to d idea of the children centre if u showed him d kind of support dey could offer eg breastfeeding support groups..mama n baby groups etc..men always get protective wen u mention additional external support. .also I promise u @briony1994 v all learn from practice practice practice. .no lady is perfect n knows wat to expect regardless how much literature u read lol..ull b fine god willing. hugs xxx

Thanks @purity463 my OH is a dad already but this is my first, his reaction was well I've already got a kid so we don't need any help, he's struggling to understand the fear I have being a first time mum :/ I don't think he will come to the children's centre with me because of how stubborn he is but maybe I could get some leaflets to show him xx

sorry if im going on my lovely. .but main thing is to b positive n believe in urself..evybody makes a poop outa things wen its new..ull fall in to a routine naturally .. n screw wat other pple tink abt u..I had a super woman mentality n hated d idea of pple judging me as a bad mum..chances are most women hav been in ur shoes at some point.. either way u got all us ladies for support. .I aint going no wherw after ive finally popped lol..love dis app xxx

no one is going to judge you at all at some point everyone has got scared by it all... you need to have faith in yourself you'll be brilliant mum and if you need support you need it but like one of the other ladies said earlier you have all of us on here if you have any questions and you'll have the health vistor as well so you'll never be on your own and maybe your oh need to calm down and maybe not go off on one like he did cause thats just wrong xxx

Awe hun :) I promise it will come to you naturally when she arrives :) It is scary yes...There's loads of children centres for young mums etc :) When she arrives! You will be so caught up in everything...that there's not really a second to think "Oh I can't do this" :) I basically do everything on my own. I do have a bit of help from family :) But my girl needs me 99.9% of the time :) I did get upset because..I thought my OH should be helping out...but he didn't visit us until Maya was 6 weeks old. So I just on with it xxx

Aww hun its totally understandable to feel like that!!! I was the same. But honestly it will happen naturally! You will know what to do and when to do it automatically! Your motherly instinct will kick in. You always have us to keep you company :) x

I feel the same sometimes. The closer I get to having baby here, the more terrified I get :(
