I'm going to do pacifiers- I realize they're hard to ween the baby off of; however, I have been told by mom's that they would rather have had to ween a baby off of a pacifier than try to break their toddler/young child of sucking their thumb. Generally speaking that takes a lot longer and can be a habit they take with them up to teenage years and beyond. I actually had a friend who sucked her thumb at age 15+.
im leaving it up to the baby. if he tales it we will use it for a bit. he doesnt then we wont. i did that with my oldest. he took it once then was over it. i make it my babies choice :)
Good to get some feedback :) my husband and I have chose to not do pacis at all. We figure if they don't know they exist then they can't miss them. But everyone looks at me like I'm insane and I have no idea what I'm getting into when I say we arnt going to use them so I was wondering what y'all take on it was
I didn't with my son and won't with this one either. There are other ways I can soothe the baby so I just figure out what works. I just didn't want the hassle of trying to get him/her off the paci when it was time
I'd rather not also. Like you said if they don't know they exist they won't know what they're missing than then it's one less thing you have to break them of later.
I didn't wanna give my son one but my friend suggested it at 2 weeks since I was breastfeeding and he used me as a paci he ended up not liking it anymore after 5 months. This one I don't plan on using one but if I need to I will and hopefully he'll give it up as well
