Have any of you ladies gotten extremely ill during the gestational diabetes/glucose test? I did the one-hour test with my last two pregnancies and felt just fine. Today I had to do the 3-hour test and they made me fast for 12 hours prior. About 20 minutes after drinking the glucola I felt like I was going into anaphylactic shock. I began shaking hard and I couldn't breathe. Like it felt like no matter how deeply I tried to breathe, my lungs weren't filling up. It took every ounce of energy to walk up to the receptionist and tell her something was wrong, I almost passed out. I was a shaky, sweaty, nauseated, oxygen-deprived mess, and after my last blood draw I started experiencing abdominal cramping. I won't get my results back until tomorrow, but does this sound like I have gestational diabetes?

The same thing happened to me when I took the 3-hour back when I was pregnant with my daughter, I almost passed out and they had to wheel me to another room so I could lay down. I didn't end up having gestational diabetes, but I guess I just had a negative reaction. Don't worry, it doesn't mean you definitely have it, just wait for the results. Good luck!
