can i experience this since I'm on maternity leave or is it have to be months and months into being a SAHM for you to have this?

@mamaash, yes you can experience it whenever. honestly for me, its because I am at home all day cooped up in the house with just the baby. although I love spending every minute with her.. I have no friends, no one to really talk to, and I guess I just drive myself into depression sometimes :( I'm reading online for advice and a lot of mamas said to start going out on walks..parks..with the baby every day or so. they said it'll help a lot.

i feel like this sometimes like exactly what u said even tho I love spending all my time with him. I never leave the house. He's 2 weeks old and that's nothing compared to Mia being 4 months so you being cooped up at home way longer is such a bigger difference than me. but I can relate

Mine was bad when she was first born. Especially since I had moved back with my husband. I had a newborn that I had to take care of all by myself, he was gone from 5 in the morning to about 6 in the afternoon. I was in a different state. No friends, my family was busy and I didn't want to hug them all the time. When he'd get home he'd be too tired to do anything plus it would be dark. I wasn't used to the weather there, it was snowy so to me it was all so depressing. In all honesty, I hate Colorado. I didn't enjoy it. I'm dreading going back once my husband gets home from deployment. Back here in Cali I get to go for walks and just be out front in the grass with my daughter and be comfortable with a place I'm familiar with. Out of everything I tried the out doors is what really lifts my spirits 😕

@mamaash, yes! I think SAHM goes through depression more likely than working moms. It's so exhausting never having any me time. Thank god I get to go home to my parents house once a week.. It keeps me sane🙌🏼✨

It's hard but don't worry, you're totally not alone! You should look and see if there are any of those indoor playgrounds in your area. Ive been taking Selena to one by our house since she was about 6 months and it's just nice to get out and be around other mommies and babies who can relate. That definitely helped me get over my depression and she got to practice her social skills and even make some friends in the process. 😊
