Can someone tell me what they do to prepare you for c section? Do they put you to sleep, epidural or what?

Epidural as far as I know I'm so damn scared it's my first c section

If you're able to have an epidural and have no other complications that have been discussed then that's generally the course they take. There are circumstances when they'd completely put you out, but I'm sure they'll discuss it with you.

Depends on what you choose first choice is epidural. They do talk about every possibly risk to you BUT only because they have to don't freak out lol I freaked out for nothing I got a spinal which is basically one dose of medicine rather than an epidural that is left in and they can keep giving medicine if needed if I can give you a tip even though it sucks do not eat for a couple hours before if you're is scheduled it will work better some people complain in wears off that's because they eat before lol and their body starts eating off I wanted all natural no meds nothing ended up with c section and it went so well I'd do it again 😍@twins1987

it's definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. they give you a spinal/epidural and the procedure is very quick. they give you pain meds while in the hospital and to go home with which makes it manageable. I was able to get up and use the restroom just 8 hours after surgery. two weeks later I didn't even feel like I had surgery. I wanna go natural with my next but I'd be open to a c section if needed. the worst part for me was the gas pains but as long as you get up and move it won't be as bad. every day gets easier and it's totally worth it when you finally have that baby

Im going on my 3rd c section. My first one wasnt planned. I was put to sleep with my first bc they couldn't get the epidural in my back and baby's heart was dropping. If its planned, the night before you have to wash with a special soap. You cant wear lotion or make up. When you get there, you put on your gown, they will hook you up to Iv and monitors. When its time they take you back and give you a spinal epidural. If they cant get it in your back then they may put you to sleep. But after your spinal epidural, they make sure you can't feel anything and proceed with getting the baby out. They may ask if you want your tubes tied while youre open. After that they close you up and take you back to your room. Its not so bad.

Oh and be prepared for when you're registered to have more blood drawn at the hospital

I have had 2 previous c-sections and I am scheduled 3rd one in a few weeks and it's not as bad as ppl make it out to be I got to the hospital with my 2nd child at 5:45 am and got hooked up the Iv's and fluids and then they shaved some hair from off the top of my vagina so that none would get in my incision and my doctor came in around 7 and ask me was I ready and then they wheeled me back to the operating room and gave me my spinal plus morphine and then my baby was out in bout 20 minutes and then my doctor closed my back up and I was back in my room before I knew it ...and then a nurse well come in maybe every hour to push in your stomach to make sure your uterus is contracting back how it's suppose to be and I was able to eat like a very hours afterwards and bond with my baby and their will be some blood lose while u recover ..and it's not so bad at all...
