@halibug, I'm not sure. went to my gyn for my results and she said no pcos which is good but a few of my hormones are really high including testosterone which is causing me not to ovulate. she said she wants me to go on the pill for one month and track my cycles for 2 months.. but she gave me provera to take for 5 days to make sure I can even have a period. she said if I take it for 5 days and don't get a period after 2 weeks to call her and she will have me come back in...
My gyn gave a 10 day dosage and i have one more pill and they told me same thing about if i dont get a period in two weeks to go back but they did ultrasounds and defs saw mini cysts all over both ovaries
She said take for 5 days and if I don't get a period in 2 weeks to call.. I assumed it was 2 weeks after the last pill cause she said it doesn't work right away takes a little bit.
@katrich3902, I haven't even started yet just got the prescription today so gonna pick it up and start it so today would be day 1. ☺ once my period starts my gyn wants me to go on the pill for 1 month though which I don't agree with but she said my hormones are really out of whack so she wants to see if one month can get them lowered and back in the normal range because my hormones are so high it's causing me to not ovulate at all. 😕
@katrich3902, well I was hoping I didn't have to either but she said it's the only way to get the on track.. what pills have you taken if not the bc pill? my gyn was sooo pushy about the pill being the only way since I was semi regular before the pill and now not regular at all.
I was same as u then i switch from the pill to the shot and then took myself off the shot didnt have a period for nine months then got back on the pill then took myself off the pill back in december cuz i was gonna ttc with my now exbf had a period in december and january and hadnt had one since
Oh damn okay. yeah I was on the pill for 3 years got off in Aug 2015 have only had 3 periods and each cycle gets longer now last period was March 18th and haven't had one since that's why she put me on provera to get a period then told me to take bc pills to help my hormones get regular but I don't understand how it's suppose to regulate them when they were what messed me up in the beginning that's why I'm unsure if I wanna even take them.. I'm just confused and not sure what is the right thing to do.
@slwwesselman, did your gyn tell you if you should regularly get a period after your first round of provera? mine told me to do bc pills after my provera period but I just don't feel okay with going back on bc... 😕
well my husband is military so I had to see a military doctor. but she said normally the way they would treat PCOS is by bc pills however since I'm trying she gave me provera instead and referred me to a fertility doctor. She didn't tell me about getting regular periods after the first round. but I read up and sometimes it will just let your body know that your supposed to be ovulating and get back to normal. but sometimes it doesn't. I guess it depends on the individual. You should ask your doctor about clomid.
@slwwesselman, oh okay. yeah I kept telling her were ttc and she still recommended bc pills that's why I am kinda mad because I kept saying that can't be the only way and she said yeah it is acting like I was dumb and that her way was right. I understand she's a doctor but from reading on here and Google there is plenty of other ways not just birth control. and she said it doesn't seem like it's pcos so idk why she would tell me to do birth control. I guess I might just have to call and set up a appt with a different gyn and see what they say. 😕
none taken I've only seen her twice once for the tests to be done and now results today and she is very close minded. I kept pushing for other options and she just said the pill that's it. never even asked about my personal life like if I am on a good healthy diet or if I exercise or anything she's dumb. gonna try and see if I can get a new appt with someone else.

I have. I just got diagnosed with PCOS. and took provera last month to induce a period. AF came for days after my first pill but it was very light.
