call Medicaid and let them know that she was born and they will give you a Medicaid number then call your pediatrician so he can go check her out while she's at the hospital and just give him the Medicaid number

That makes sense!! I was sitting here trying to think it over like I am not gonna have time nor the energy to go to the Dhhr the day after I give birth lol.

lol yes I have to do all that to I was freaking out at first but I think we will be ok:) just so much to do!!

They can give you a temp medicade number or they can bill medicade once she's accepted for it. it depends on how medicade works in your state.

Are you on Medicaid yourself? When I got on Medicaid at the beginning of my pregnancy I was told that once my baby is born he will automatically be covered and will be covered under my Medicaid until he's 3

idk how mine will work because the only reason I get it is because of pregnancy. I won't qualify anymore once I'm not pregnant :/ but I will check into it! @emkasting

That's the only reason I was able to get it too, but i was told it will switch over from "pregnancy Medicaid" to whatever the regular one is after I deliver
